Crunchy...Yet Satisfying.

Ewww!! Don't eat that!!

Yucky!

Rocks don't taste good.

Spit that out!!

Eww. That was a bug!

Some days I felt like I spent all day trying to keep that kid from eating...well...all sorts of not food items.

I know it's a natural thing for children to explore the world around them. But WHY do they want to taste everything!

I do know that eating a little dirt won't hurt them...

Actually, studies show that kids who are allowed to eat a bit of dirt are healthier than those who don't. Must be true. All five of ours did and they were quite healthy. Lol

But trying to keep things out of some kids' mouths will drive a mommy right over the edge. They seem to have some compulsion to frighten their mother or to choke themselves on some random little things they found on the floor.

I had one of those kids.

And the jaw strength of a seven-month-old is shocking! "Open your mouth, Honey, and let me see." Nope. A clinched jaw is their only response.

The good news is... mothers are creative and generally win out over their determined infant or toddler.

And, it's only a short season of time that kids are really bad about putting things in their mouths.

I did feel like a terrible mother while I was wrestling my toddler to fish out a Lego that they had stuffed in their mouth. But only for a moment. Lol. After winning the battle I felt like a champion.

Mommy, You Got This!!
